HERE IS US

Privacy Policy

Your memories are personal. This page explains what we process, who can see shared content, and how to contact us about your data.

Who is responsible

DAW Converter operates here is us and is responsible for the personal information we process to run it. Contact support@hereisus.com for privacy questions or requests.

Information we process

  • Account information: Google account identifiers and profile information provided during sign-in, such as your name, email and profile picture; your chosen nickname; and authentication records needed to maintain your session.
  • Content you choose to save: memory text, letters, photos, places, answers, room arrangements, game actions, pet details, connection information and related timestamps.
  • Membership information: plan status, subscription dates and Paddle customer, subscription, transaction or event references used to associate purchases with your account. Paddle handles payment details; we do not store full card numbers or security codes.
  • Operational information: technical requests and logs needed to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service. Hosting and sign-in providers may process information such as network addresses, browser details and request times.
  • Support information: messages and purchase references you send us when asking for help.

Why we use it

We use information to sign you in, store your content, carry out sharing you request, apply game rules, activate membership, provide exports, answer support requests, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Where applicable, the legal bases include providing our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, compliance with law, and consent for optional analytics.

We do not sell your private memories or make your memory book a public feed. Do not include information about another person unless you have the right to share it. You choose what to write or upload; avoid recording sensitive information you do not want the other participant to receive or retain.

Free question players

You can use the public question library without signing in. Choices, story words and shortlists entered into these players stay in the current browser page; the players do not send those answers to our server or save them to an account. Reloading the page clears that activity state. If you copy an answer or share it using another app, that app's privacy practices apply. Hosting logs and any analytics you accept are separate from these answers.

What your partner can see

Personal pages are not automatically copied into a new shared room. New memory-book entries created while connected are shared. Some activities keep an answer hidden until both participants submit, according to the activity rules.

Either person can end a connection. The former shared room and memory book then close in the normal interface, but both former participants retain export access to that shared content. Disconnecting does not erase the former partner's exported copy. A new connection creates a separate shared space; it does not grant a new partner access to a former shared space.

Service providers and disclosures

We use Cloudflare for application hosting, databases and stored media, Google for sign-in, and Paddle for checkout and billing. These providers process information needed for their roles. Paddle also processes purchase information under its own Privacy Notice; Google describes its practices in its Privacy Policy.

If enabled for this site and you allow it, Google Analytics receives usage events for public pages. We exclude private application pages and URL query strings from our analytics page tracking. We may disclose information where legally required, to address fraud or security issues, or in a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards. Providers may process information outside your country; applicable data-transfer requirements continue to apply.

Cookies, local storage and analytics choices

Essential cookies support sign-in and session security. Local or session storage may remember preferences, drafts, activity progress or a pending checkout. These are distinct from optional analytics.

Optional Google Analytics is off until you accept it using our cookie preferences. You can choose or withdraw that preference using Cookie preferences in the footer. Rejecting optional analytics does not prevent you from using the product. Google and Paddle may use their own cookies when you choose their sign-in or checkout services.

Retention, exports and deletion requests

We retain account and content information while needed to operate your account and the sharing and export features you use. Support, security and billing-related records may be retained where needed to resolve issues, prevent fraud, meet legal requirements or handle disputes. Retention depends on the type of record and those purposes. Ending a connection or cancelling membership is not a deletion request; former shared content is retained for the exports described above.

Signed-in users can export available data from Settings. You can edit your nickname and, when permitted by the product, edit or delete entries you authored. To request account deletion, access, correction, portability, restriction, objection or another right available under your local law, email support@hereisus.com from your account email with the subject “Privacy request”. We may ask you to verify your identity.

We will explain any applicable exception if we cannot fulfil a request in full. Some records may need to be retained for legal, billing or security reasons; copies already downloaded by another person are outside our control. Paddle handles requests about its own payment records separately under its Privacy Notice. You may also complain to the data protection authority where that right applies.

Children and policy changes

The service is not intended for children under 13. You must also meet the minimum age for consenting to data processing where you live, or have any legally required guardian permission. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so we can investigate.

We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice where required. The date above identifies the current version.
